Sandile Hlophe is the Managing Partner for the Restructuring Advisory business unit within the Advisory function of KPMG South Africa. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA), with more than 12 years professional experience spread over the disciplines of auditing, management consulting, retail and corporate banking, socio-economic development, development funding, digital data casting and television broadcasting.
He has extensive experience in corporate restructuring, business strategy, balanced scorecard, business operations, business process improvement, Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) and the use of ICT in leveraging business strategy and operations. He spent the first 5 years of his career at KPMG Johannesburg working initially in the audit division and later in the management consultancy division.
He then gained commercial and business management experience in the banking, social development, data casting and television broadcasting industries for 5 years before returning to KPMG to establish a BEE Services unit, which he successfully established and managed for three years before being promoted to manage the Restructuring Advisory business unit.
He is the Lead Partner for the annual KPMG BEE Survey into BEE transformation within businesses in South Africa and was responsible for conceptualising and delivering the first survey, which was recognised by the Department of Trade and Industry as a positive contribution towards promoting BEE in South Africa.
He is a member of the KPMG Transformation Advisory Board, heads up the KPMG Advisory Transformation function and is a member of the KPMG Advisory Leadership Forum. His role in these structures is defining and monitoring the effective transformation of KPMG and the Advisory function.
Away from work Sandile enjoys dining out, watching stage theater, reading and playing golf.
