Background and experience
Les is a well known and respected business advisor, turnaround and restructuring specialist and has been active in this field for almost 30 years.
Les was the Managing Director and founder of Credit Management Solutions (Pty) Ltd (“CMS”), a company focused on both corporate and consumer debt. CMS was a pioneer in the purchase of distressed debt in South Africa.
CMS was recently acquired by Transaction Capital, a company in which Les remains a shareholder. Following this acquisition, Les has started Matuson & Associates (Pty) Ltd, a company that will focus on the corporate distress market.
Les has been a liquidator and has supervised and maximised recoveries in many large high profile corporate collapses.
Les has significant private equity experience, having sat on the board of Gensec NSA Private Equity Fund.
