Kgomotso D.C. Lekola – Director LGC Capital, Kgomotso holds a BSc degree as well as a Diploma in Datametrics AI and completed his MBA from the GIBS University of Pretoria with an excellent academic record. He has worked as a systems analyst, researcher and developer for the Swedish, telecommunications company, CellPoint servicing the general European telecoms market. He developed a product that delivered location sensitive content to mobile phones targeted for countries with high cell density in Europe. Further, while working as Technology Manager at nTier Software Services, in 2001 he led the development of a virtual prepaid airtime trading system for MTN Nigeria. Kgomotso also worked as a Program Manager responsible for Business Planning and Strategy at MTN SA Pty Ltd in the Office of the Managing Director where he worked on major strategic projects. He also led the development of products and systems so that MTN SA would be able to take advantage of the opportunities created by the relaxation of electronic gambling laws. In 2006 he joined the Mutual & Federal and there became responsible for setting up the New Markets division of the company. The division was aimed at growing the company’s market and in his time there initiated the development of three new innovative products that were covered widely by the media and are still used today. With extensive and proven experience in leading major strategic projects and with leading organizations responsible for budgets running into hundreds of millions of rand – Kgomotso is a valued member of the team.
Kgotso (Surname) - Industry Analyst Kgotso has worked for the USAID Southern Africa Global Competitive Hub, Trade Facilitation & Capacity Building Project as a Trade Facilitation Assistant. Functions included Research; policy recommendation; working closely with the Southern African Developing Community (SADC). Kgotso has been involved with numerous projects in diverse fields that have required secondary and primary research. One of the key projects was the Cuban Medical Training Programme (CMPT). The mandate was to measure the extent of the impact of the programme made by doctors who qualified through the programme and have been working in the public service from 2003, on the health system in relation to the Department’s objective to address the shortage of health professionals in the country, especially provisioning of doctors in the under-served areas. Kgotso’s responsibility involved conducting primary research with person(s) responsible for ABET implementation and overview; compiling a database of firms involved in ABET and assist in drafting recommendation to the SETA. The goal of Adult Basic Education Training (ABET) Research was to quantify the extent of illiteracy in the manufacturing, engineering and related services sub-sectors for the client, to collect data on ABET provisioning in these sub- sectors by small, medium and large companies irrespective of funding source; and advise on the ability of learners who successfully complete ABET learning programmes at ABET level 4 to access further learning and/or career advancement opportunities. NHERIT appointed Insight Strategies to design its African Heritage Local Economic Development (LED) model that would serve as an umbrella strategy throughout Africa in terms of how tourism can be fostered and developed on a national, regional and international scale while the local population can benefit through LED initiatives to foster sustainable development within a region. Kgotso’s function was to assist the Insight Strategies team to create the appropriate LED structure in tourism. That included finding a balance in which partnerships between local government, private sector and the community are established to manage local, and access external, resources that can be used to stimulate the economy of a well defined territory and also to report to senior management on conferences held in and around the country. Kgotso was part of the City of Johannesburg (COJ) Skills Hub Initiative as a primary researcher. The main theme driving the skills strategy is to: Eliminate the skills constraint on economic growth and social development within the COJ; and raising the employability of graduates, school leavers and the unemployed in the COJ’s labour market. Kgotso’s task was to consult and conduct interviews with private and government sectors key role players for linkages and creating partnerships for the success of the project. Kgotso is currently working for LGC Capital as an analyst specializing in research in key areas. He has worked for a consulting firm that has been operational for over 15 years and has done extensive work throughout the SADC. Kgotso has subsequently mastered the operational insight and developmental strategy that is required in the industry over the last year.
Vuyolwethu N. Bokwe – Analyst LGC Capital, Vuyolwethu holds a BSc degree as well as Certificate in Statistical Analysis and Sales Marketing. With experience as a developer at Nokia in Helsinki Finland for 6 months on an internship program, Vuyolwethu was an essential part of the team - integrating the Windows operating system onto the Nokia Cellphone. In 2005 she then went on to work at Alexander Forbes and was part of a web development team developing a claims system to work on the web and on mobile telephones for the claims staff and assessors. Vuyolwethu then went on to work at Delloite as a Systems Administrator of the financial system CABS. This entailed the full understanding of the financial modeling that was done at Delloite. Vuyolwethu was dealing primarily with the conversion of business and financial processes into system language and business process optimisation. In 2007 she joined Transunion Credit Bureau as a Business Analyst and Data Sales Liaison where she was responsible for the establishment of the monitoring of insurance profiles and claims that are made against them. The new establishment was primarily aimed at reducing risk in insurance and life assurance for the service providers. In this role Vuyolwethu also introduced that same principle for Credit Bureau’s to include the monitoring of Medical Aid Schemes. The setting up of business processes and financial models was one of the key functions that she had to fulfill and then co-coordinating the Information Technology to run these processes. She then went on to join the South African Breweries as a Business Support Specialist, which was an executive level for the Egoli Region which is the greater Johannesburg area. Here she led a team to turn around the Information Technology infrastructure and Information Technology processes that both affected the Manufacturing and the Distribution of the region. As the resident Analyst, Vuyolwethu’s fine eye for detail and market understanding keep LGC at the cutting edge of the industry.
