Services offered

    As associate director within PwC: Performance Improvement: Turnaround and Transformation - I am responsible for Turnaround and Transformation.

    The Turnaround and Transformation division of PricewaterhouseCoopers provides a professional service to all public sector institutions requiring significant turnaround, transformation and reengineering.

    Dealing with the following situations:

  • Challenges with service delivery;
  • Recurring qualified Auditor-General reports;
  • Policy management challenges;
  • Inefficient administrations;
  • Poor monitoring and evaluation practices;
  • Unreliable decision-making information;
  • Inefficient business processes, including financial management challenges;
  • Insufficient technical capacity; and
  • Technical insolvency.
  • Independent business reviews

    When a public institute is underperforming or is in crisis, we undertake a tailored, objective assessment of the situation and resources.  Our rapid and rigorous review process scrutinises financial performance, operating frameworks, asset deployment, and management issues - and then identifies a range of options to address any weaknesses.

    Transformation

    For underperforming institutes, we deliver restructuring solutions designed to build a platform for swift recovery and sustained future success.  We thoroughly assess all revitalisation options; develop a plan of action in partnership with management and other stakeholders; and mobilise the resources required for effective implementation.  Our specialists utilise PricewaterhouseCoopers' deep and broad industry knowledge and local knowledge in planning complex restructurings.

    Turnaround executives

    To help spearhead the recovery process, we can introduce one of our highly experienced and credentialed turnaround executives.  PricewaterhouseCoopers has brought together a panel of senior turnaround executives, all with a strong corporate track record.  Their proven knowledge is vital in restoring shareholder confidence and creating a stable platform for the future.  Whilst these individuals have the resources of PricewaterhouseCoopers at their disposal, they remain independent "hands on" executives providing leadership in the business transformation process.

    Insolvency

    Subject to South African legislation, we may assume the role of Administrator or we may act as advisor to parties involved in voluntary arrangements and administrations.
