Background and experience

I completed articles with Ernst & Young in Bloemfontein in 2007. I worked on different clients including government, pharmaceuticals and small businesses. I worked in external audits, internal audits, performance audits, compilation and review of annual financial statements, completion of tax returns. After articles I was promoted by Ernst & Young to a junior management position. I was involved in monitoring and evaluation project for Municipal Infrastructure Grants projects and also was a reviewer for compilation of annual financial statements for small clients. After Ernst & Young I started an accounting business which was not successful while I also lectured part-time at an EFT College. At the college I lectured Accounting, Business Management and Marketing. I have since joined PWC as a consultant for public sector clients mostly municipalities and provincial departments. I currently assist in compiling annual financial statements, clearing audit queries and implementing internal controls to improve situations of municipalities and provincial departments. I am also involved as an analyst for provincial departments budgets.

Why I joined TMA-SA

A number of municipalities are currently experiencing cash flow, management and other problems which I am regularly required to assist with. A number of them are trying to develop turnaround strategies and have requested my assistance.
